Hardwood Oak Windows & Doors - Case Study on a Listed Property in Hampshire

Below is a recent example of replacement hardwood windows & doors installed by Realwood on a listed property in Hampshire.

As can be seen from the photos below (taken on a survey visit), this property had at some point in the past been fitted with soft wood replacement windows, the design being very unsympathetic to the properties appearance & were also in the advanced stages of rotting. There was only one sensible option the client could take & that was to seek a company that could replace the old windows with traditionally manufactured new hardwood replacement windows, providing an extremely long lasting solution for many years to come. The client was also keen to enhance the overall look of this listed property & requested a design style that was more "in keeping" with the period of this particular property.

After an initial free site survey, Realwood provided a design & full written quotation for the replacement hardwood windows & doors for the clients consideration. In this particular instance, our client requested us to deal with the Listed Property Planning Consent required by their local authority. Because every situation is unique & many different local authorities have differing requirements & policies, Realwood were able to submit a proposal that provided the required information & tackled any potential planning problems, in accordance with the local councils policies.

Having been granted planning permission, Realwood then began to manufacture the clients replacement windows & doors to the exact sizes required. This means that even if the window opening was not in square (as is often the case with listed & older properties) a solution could be found to ensure a good & secure fit. After manufacturing in our Sussex workshops, we then dipped the windows & doors into a preservative before final finishing & delivery to the clients house.

Realwood were requested by our client to fit the windows rather than choosing a "supply only" service. I am sure you will agree the finished result is very satisfying indeed.
